So why do teenagers think sperm dies in air?

Quote

It's a COMPLETE MYTH that sperm die on contact with air - if this were true then things like artificial insemination or IVF would not be possible. Think about it. Sperm CAN and DO survive for awhile after ejaculation on your fingers, in your pubic hair or on tissues as long as things remain moist, so it's possible.

So why do teenagers think sperm dies in air? is their no logic like how would sperm banks exist in their thinkingSo why do teenagers think sperm dies in air?
IT IS KINDA TRUE THAT SPEM DIED IN AIR BUT NO TEENAGER DONOT KNOW THAT BECASUE THEY ARE TEENAGER GOSH THEY DONT ATTENTION IN HEALTH CLASSES NONE OF THEM DOSo why do teenagers think sperm dies in air?

i am a good teenager at school

i ALWAYS listen...

THEY NEVER NEVER TEACH us THAT...well i knew already lol.

NOT being a big headed LOL

EDIT - nah cant be a r sed.
Because when teachers try to be serious about sex education they get laughed at and either get really annoyed and angry waste time and next week we have to move onto a different topic or get really embaressed and move on. Lolz.

However, even when sex education in school is informative they don't talk about they kind of things, they give you the basic facts, how to avoid getting pregnant and what to do if you do get pregnant. They don't mention myths believed by teenagers.
they do 2 di in air
No wonder we are all fcuked up.

All them moms washing ''air come'' and getting up the duff.

Urg!!
I didn't think sperm died in the air... I didn't even think about it. I don't know anyone who thinks that... Well okay... THEY DON'T!!
LOL and jumping up and down will stop u gettting pregnant .

my god sum people are easly led
it is something that i have heard, and as far as i am aware if was sex ed at school that told me this, i've not been stupid enough to not use comdoms. i think it is lack of intelligence from people that have the responsibilty to tell us these things. i for one will be passing this on, it is knowledge that is not being given to people who may need it most.
Sperm dies after drying out. So it`s a case of people misinterpreting the fact that contact with air does dry sperm out, but it`s not instant.

I agree teenagers should be taught more about the ins and outs of sex. However, I don`t think it should be forced on everyone. Personally, when I was 13, I wasn`t interested in sex, at all. Boys were ';gross';, and what my parents did was ';gross'; and I didn`t need to know the intricate details, only the gist. I think the biggest problem is that by the time most people want to have sex, they feel too old to be asking questions. So maybe some more detailed sex ed at sixth form/college or even at uni wouldn`t be a bad idea too.
Never heard that one before.
i agree. i blame poor sex education in schools and parent's reluctance to teach little mary and johnny about sex.
you have to much spare time on your hands!
You ever been to a sperm bank? they conceal the sperm is containers... And its frozen in IVF... not much air in those places
Same reason they think money grows on trees and all people over the age of 19 are ancient.
can I just add for the teenagers, don't listen if he tells you he will take it out before he comes, that is utter rubbish, my aunt had 6 kids doing that.
If you've just been playing 5 Knuckle Shuffle, now would be a good time to go wash your hands.
I'm not a teenager, and I didn't know that. Cheers.
they do die with contact of air
What? Sperm can stay alive for awhile, but it eventually dries out, but yeah if a guy has sperm on his fingers then fingers a girl, she could get pregnant.

I've never heard of anyone thinking that it died on contact with the air.
