Why do teenagers get into relationships?

I've never been in one, (I'm 17) and I don't really understand why people get into them. They're going to breakup anyway, so why go through the hassle?

What's your opinion on relationships? Why do teenagers get into relationships?
cause the boy and girl are attracted to each other. we were both 16 when we started dating. we weren't even looking for a relationship, it just happened. we broke up once for 3 months, and again, for 2 years. it's saddening to know i had to go through heart-break at that age, but i'm glad i experienced young love. Why do teenagers get into relationships?
They get into them because it is the socially acceptable thing to do. I do understand what you are saying though, one week they love each other and the next they are ready to take each others heads off. So yea , if you are not ready for the drama and just want to concentrate on your grades and have fun right now in school then that is your given right. Would you jump off of a bridge just because a popular person in your school would be foolish enough to do so? I know i would not . So thanks for thinking. It shows your maturity level and not many in here have that i assure you.
because some people need a person who they can turn to to lean on or make them happy. even though they may not stay together their whole life, it makes the time that they are together feel exciting and happy. haha thats my explanation, im a teenager.
