cheap, easy, sexy, you don't smoke/blow/huff/shoot it. you can say ''aren't responsible'' for your actions on it. Not to mention every house has it and it's not a drug you can easily buy a test for.Why do teenagers get addicted to alcohol so quickly ? [doing a research paper :]?

Because alcohol lowers your natural inhibitions and defenses. I think teens are wrapped so tightly and try to fit in with their peers that they keep their real selves hidden so as to fit in with the crowd.

Alcohol lowers their threshold for holding their real self back and the real self comes out. The next day friends think you were just drunk, when in reality the real self came out and that is who they are seeing. Therefore, it allows you to be yourself without rejection as people just think that you were drunk.

Also, they use it to escape the pressures of being a teen: academic pressure, parental pressure, peer pressure, as they don't really know who they are yet but have all this pressure to be someone.
well i dont drink or do drugs and all but i have a friend who drinks because she just wants to forget about all her problems and she believes that whenever you drink that it takes all tha pain away..she has so many problems at home, she has to support her whole family and whenever she needs something there never there for her...and she has been through a lot so i think that the reason she turned to alcohol is to get away from her problems and ease the pain...
I personally think one of the main reasons is that most of them are programmed to be open in the sense that they are very receptive to outer circumstances and very connected to them, so they are (maybe subconsciously) motivated to experience various sensations and events. They're too ';connected'; to external influences, which reduces their control and level of awareness.
I think its one because they get addicted to the things that happen when under the influence of alcohol. They get addicted to the social aspect of it therefore become addicted to the alcohol so they can keep having that experience.
I think a lot of it comes down to peer pressure and the desperation to be accepted by ';the cool kids'; so anything about peer pressure and even rebellion would probably give you quite a bit of into

: )
When you find someone that can make you feel better than alcohol they well give you your answer.
it gets our minds off all the stressful things in life.
