I'm interested to find out what interests you. that if you had to talk about it in class you would. can be anything, a hobby, something you love doing, or something that's of concern...reason: it was a quit while ago that i was a teenager and i'll probably be teaching some later this year.Teenagers, what would you talk about in class you had to pick something?
Raise class debates about politics (the hot and controversial ones). This sounds like it would make the class bored, however once one teenager hears an ideology come from another peer's mouth, the other teenager just HAS to disagree. This is because at this age we (yes, I am 18 years of age) have many ideologies that we believe in very strongly. This will easily engage students and can also provide for an educational experience.
Debates, as fun as they are, can get load and counterproductive when they are let to go by them selves. So mediate the debate, make sure comments given by students are respected by their peers, and above all, never place a restriction on the political ideologies that the students may want to discuss. Even things as touchy as abortion or gay rights are important, and coincidentally may be what the students are experiencing in and out of school.
