Should teenagers be tried as adults if they commit a crime?

like murder and all that stuff, between ages 14 to 18

I don't think so. I also think that we should be able to only hold them until they are 25 and they should stay in a juvenile facility until they are 18.





Trying children as adults is like trying mentally ill as sane.


Children should probably also see that they are treated in mental hospitals to see what their problem was and develop a plan after they are released from prison so they don't re-offend. The more unique approaches we find work the more people are going to see that we need to improve our rehabilitation services. It seems cruel to not give another chance to a child who does not understand the severity of every action they do. It could be said that older children knew what they were doing but not like someone who is 25.Should teenagers be tried as adults if they commit a crime?
There are just too many variables to give a ';one answer fits all'; response.


Is the 14 year old mentally competent?....was he abused all his life and therefore desensitized to violence?....if it was murder was it premeditated?


All of these points can change by the time you get to the 18 year old.


I am likely to be much more harsh with a 19 year old than a 13 year old...but that does not mean the 13 year old gets off scott free either.
Depends. If they planned it: yes. If it was an accident: no. If they acted in a group: maybe yes, maybe no. Really depends on the maturity level of the kid.
definately not because they still haven't reached maturity level if it was second degree murder(non intentional). If it was first degree murder they should because they might be harmful to others around them because obviously there's something wrong with them
ok all i got to say is dont kill him or her they might of done somthing bad just dont do it trust me you dont want too just play a prank on him to where hes ruined so kill him in the inside
