How can we stop teenagers from getting pregnant?

whats something u think might work? How can we stop teenagers from getting pregnant?
it's been happening since the beginning of time and it happens all over the world.

even with the best parenting and education it can happen. i have seen it myself.

you can talk to children and try your best to strongly encourage them to make good choices, but how they take it and decide what to do with that advice is a different matter.

the only way to stop teenage pregnancy would be to force depo injections, which would be very contreverisal. How can we stop teenagers from getting pregnant?
Can I just point out the obvious? Teenage pregnancy isn't a new phenomenon. It must have happened in every generation since our species existed. You can't 'stop' teenagers from getting pregnant, it's always going to happen.

All you can do, as a parent, is ADVISE your son / daughter how to be responsible sexual adult (anyone who thinks preaching abstinence is all that's needed is sticking their head in the sand). That means teaching them how to safely use contraception and why, explaining why it's advisable to only have one sexual partner at a time, and stressing the importance of not being pressured into anything by peers.
Sex is a strong desire when you want to stop it it won't work because that desire is your ability for connecting to opposite sex and we need that desire for living.we must control sex desire we must not be free to do that.they must control their sex too. so educating them to control their desires and also controlling sex itself can stop them from getting pregnant. parents are very important for they raise them. a friendship connection between them can help them to talk to each other and that talk help teenagers a lot. but it is a hard question for answering that question in some sentences you must get PHD.
Why all the thumbs down for parents talking to their children?

Personally I do believe if parents talked more to their kids about sex it could prevent more teen pregnancies. And I'm talk real talks not those ';don't have sex till your 30'; because that's just plain stupid, and not those ';if you have sex at 16 it's going to kill you'; that doesn't work either. Parents need to start having real dialog with their kids about all the aspects of sex.

And sorry but sex education in school is retarded. They tell kids that ';pregnancy isn't the worst thing that can happen';, well no pregnancy isn't the worst, but when your 14 and pregnant it will feel like the worst. If they are going to have sex education in school teach them about birth control and condoms, how to USE them properly.

Also screw the fake baby thing. My cousin did that in high school and thought the fake baby was easy. I was a teen mom and let her take my infant daughter for the weekend per her parents asking. Over that weekend she had to provide everything for my child cloths, diapers, etc. she found out quickly when your a teen and working at McDonald's it's not so easy.
give it a few months. Sex education is going to be reintroduced into schools (for the past 9 years we have had abstinence education where no teachings on safe sex are used and the teens just promise not to have sex) when kids are actually being taught was STD's and condoms are then you will see the numbers go down for pregnancy.

Actually the new reforms on sex education are still pushing teens to not have sex, and telling them that pregnancy and STD's are not a day at the park. The teach about condoms and birth control and how STD's can be contracted even through unprotected oral sex.
educate their parents better.

but tobe honest- i dont think there is anything that would ever stop teenagers getting pregnant. we could be successful in reducing the numbers but there is no way we could put a stop to it.

teenagers these days are different to what teenagers used to be like- its the way that generations have developed and it is a big big shame. teenagers used to have more respect for sex and relationships than the majority do now.
i think them plastic dolls, that some schools have that give to the teenagers and the teenagers find out what it really is like to be a parent. i think that they should talk to teenagers about teenage pregnancy. my neice just left scfhool and she said that they never discussed teenage pregtnancy or even pregnancy just about how it forms in the belly but i think they should find out about emotional cause and how hard it is after school.
this will never stop, endless amounts of sex education in school have been passed onto parents and children alike and this has not helped. only thing i think would work would be to cease/reduce benefits that the little brats receive for being single parents, so at least then they arent leaching off the government.
Teach better sex education at a younger age. And give real life stories of real teenagers and make then seriously think about if it's good to have a child young.

Give them something to do rather then sleeping around. Teenagers sleep around because they have nothing better to do and they're at the curious age.

Get to them before they learn all their sex education off of the Internet...AKA porn...
birth control but also self esteem and activities that they are interested. let them know they have a future regardless of where they come from and they deserve a better life then the one their heading down.. also let them to please a boy there don't have to do anything to them. just have fun and know to respect themselves. i hope this helps ..
Don't allow them to have such serious relationships. They're 15 or whatever, not 35. Don't let them have the opposite sex in their rooms. Watch everything they do. Instill some morals, values and perhaps go to church which most people don't anymore. Parents need to control their kids more than they do.
i think they get pregnant because they want to be an adult too soon, some girls will purposely get pregnant so that they will be housed etc, or because there friend has a baby. i don't know how to stop them getting pregnant, i don't think there is a way.
Mandatory birth control injections for all teenagers, from puberty to age 18; then voluntary shots until they choose to have children.
well, providing they don't want to have children... They could be responsible and use contraception or if they're too stupid for that then they shouldn't be allowed the possibility of reproducing so they should not have sex.
Parents need to talk more with their children and be more relaxed so that the teenagers feel comfortable coming to them if they want to get on birth control.
Put all girls and boys on the contraceptive injection, compulsory until they are 18.
They need something to occupy their time with other than experimenting sexually with each other.
Sterilisation might work...............
Not having sex. Absolutely guaranteed
educating parents....
