You can try doing a roll call on some websites. A lot of people recommend cruisecritic.com but I haven't been on it. I believe you might also find people on carnival.com because I think I saw a section for forums, questions, and roll calls.
While you might have luck finding someone there, not all people going on that cruise will check out those websites. It's also unlikely that people on your cruise will be on this website and see this question.
Cruise travel answerers probably noticed that I recommend the kids/teen clubs a lot. They're a great and easy way to make friends. Camp Carnival is for the kids, Circle C is for the preteens (12-14) and Club 02 is for 15-17 year olds.
The teen clubs have games and activities. They also have dances and parties, as well as music, a cool lounge, and lots of teens to meet. Just pop in on the first night and join. Nobody really knows each other then because they're all still new so you won't feel like the new kid at school or something. If you don't like the club, you don't have to stay there. You can pop in and out whenever you want, and can hang out with your new friends around the ship. It's really easy to make friends.
