It really depends on the time of year and their particular interests but there are definitely events all over the US that they would love. All the previous post have great ideas. I love the Whiskeytown area. Continue on the road west to the Scotia lumber mill tour or take the road east to shasta lake, caves. Then to Mt Shasta burney falls and Lassen Nat'l Park. Don't forget to Whitewater raft the trinity river for fun.
