How come teenagers these days dont care about anything?

It is more about the envoriment. With the right envoriment, they will learn to care about the envoriment.

What is the right envoriment?

Poeple don't care what you know, till they know what you care. How come teenagers these days dont care about anything?
because now adays they have more freedom about the things they do and say and they can decide for more in general.

but there are allot of caring teenagers too, its not like they just suddendly went ignorant. How come teenagers these days dont care about anything?
hey what are u saying??? i am a teenager! and to tell u the truth i care about alot of things like my grades. 8th grade is hard u know! lol. oh but speaking in other terms u are kind of right. i think they don't care because they have other things to look foward to. like the movies, boys..or girls(for the guys), mall, and ect. its like a stage. u can't say u haven't been though it. lol
It is absolutely wrong for anyone to generalize such a statement. Teenagers do care. We care about how adults are attempting to ruin our future by embarking on dangerous and often endless endeavors. We care that there is a genocide occurring to which concerned adults fail to seek an end. We care that the U.S. spends more money on dieting that the amount required to produce an end to malnutrition around the globe. We care that people today are still so eager to judge an entire group of people based on incomplete evidence.
here's a movie my teen made.

he and many others care about lots of things. i know a lot don't, but they stopped caring before elementary school. mostly because their parents didn't bother to get them excited and curious about anything and when they were excited and curious their parents told them to stop asking so many questions and because i said so and don't be wierd and can't you see i'm working here and go hug your nanny and there you have it.
It's because with the economy the way it is the families have to have two working parents and the divorce rate is so high that the kids learn that you don't have to deal with problems anymore you just run from that problem and move on to the next. Parents are not taking the time to instill a sense of respect for elders and a respect for others in general. They want their kids to do their school work without bothering the parent because they all have too much going on to be a family.
They have be desensitized by all the info they are bombarded with.
Not only is that not a fair statement, it is inaccurate. Teenagers do care about things these days, perhaps it's that the majority of teens don't care about the same things that some adults care about.

Teens are in a different world,so to speak. They have their own agenda... they care about impressions, relationships, and their reputation. When you begin to look at it closely, they actually do care about the same things as adults, just in a different capacity. Adults think about impressions in ways that encourage them to further their education, get a steady paying job all for the sake of both their happiness and impressing others. Well, teenagers care about impressions in ways that can actually get them involved in peer pressure situations. But they want the latest fashionable clothes... they interact with their friends and try to impress them just the same.

Think about it.
Face facts, there are a lot more than usual that don't. The problem is, this generation was brought up at day care centers where no one gave a damn about them. Kids need parental guidance in their lives. Whether the government says so or not. It doesn't take a village to raise kids it takes a caring family!!!!!
because our leaders believe that all is forgiven by our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Why should they care?
i know for a fact that's not true. maybe for some teenagers, but there's always been some like that.

Teenagers are people too, you know! We have feelings and care about a lot of stuff, maybe stuff you don't care about. I know so many teenagers who care a lot about their religion, music, charity, their friends, family, sports and getting into a good college. Maybe the stuff that's important to us doesn't seem important to you, or maybe you've encountered some teenagers who actually don't care, but that's been around forever.

As for people who say that older gentlemen are so much nicer, DON'T FORGET they were once teenagers too!!!

They're STILL men. Plenty of ';older gentlemen'; still have the mindset of a teenage boy.

So before you go around generalizing an entire age group, think about when you were a teenager. Think about all the teens out there doing great things. And think about how ignorant your statement is.
because life is so easy for them. i should know. im 13.
as a high school teacher and as a mother i can tell you that teens these days are more open minded than their parents and they care more about others than older generations.
My 14 year old daughter just read this question over my shoulder and she says.....';Myspace and more Myspace, that's pretty much all we care about';....She also said that ';nothing really matters';....sad, huh. Actually, she cares about a lot of things, very deeply, animal rights, the environment, gay rights and she is intensely against the war in Iraq. I am very proud of her passion.
Because there not taught to care about anything.......
I was wondering this myself today...

because it feels so nice when older gentlemen kind of nod their head w/a hello and are respectful and nice, as well as older women who smile.

but then u get these teens (only some not all!) that walk around w/these attitudes w/o realizing how they are representing themselves at all. And they don't realize also that character builds over time and becomes their personality more strongly into adulthood. If they are rude, or have a rotten attitude or obnoxious, yuk~~just think what they will be like many yrs. from now. IT's pitiful.

That's 1 thing I hate about customer service these days.......you have these extra young people who don't have the manners and respect to WORK and WAIT on store guests/customers properly, --they just talk amoungst themselves as if they are at a party or something when they should be paying attention to the grocery store line instead.

Nasty!!--no one wants to be around that shyty behavior or wonder what the world will be like once that generation eventually has years on them to influence the next younger generation.
I wouldnt go so far as to say none of them do, there are always a few that do care in my opinion.
