Why is everyone hard on teenagers?

Sometimes, I witness teenagers being treated harshly by parents, teachers, coaches, and outsiders. They also act like they hate teenagers. This is probably why teenagers are so depressed. What is up with that? Why is everyone hard on teenagers?
Because teenagers can be exceptionally hard-headed and THINK they know it all, when in fact they know quite little about life.

You're probably a teen yourself and will hate this answer, but trust me, in about 10-15 years you will look back and say: Gee I sure did some dumb things. Why is everyone hard on teenagers?
Because the older you get the smarter you get.

(it's called experience!)

Teenagers think they know it all, but in reality they only know a fraction of what they are going to learn as they get older.

Just remember your parents, teachers, coaches, and other adults were once teenagers their self's. They don't want you to make the same stupid mistakes they made when they were teenagers.
It all truly depends. Sometimes they might be harsh due to a lack of effort they put into school. Some parents i swear push they're kids too hard, into things they don't really want to do. In some cases teenagers are cruel and they have to take action i don't really know, i'm 14 and that's what i seem to notice recently.
Because they are jealous, seriously. They all wish they could go back to their days as teens. That's also why adults are so hard on teens about being in love because their marriages suck and they have been stuck having sex with the same person for years. I will never be like that. I hated being a teenager and all i wanted was some respect... i;m almost to that point, finally.
maybe because they think that we can overpower them and stuff...well we could if we wanted to...but yeah that's one reason i hate adults they are soo pushy and demanding of us...just leave us the hell alone..

EDIT: wtf is with the thumbs down i'm just speaking my mind..
Because you're naive, pretentious assholes who think your life is hard. Wait until you're older and actually have responsibilities.

I'm 17
Just getting them ready for the real world.

The average age of the Marine on Iwo Jima was 19.

Life is hard.
They just don't want them making the same mistakes they did.
^^^Wht' up with the 1sst answerr?

But idk i guess because they want to control them?
its part of growing up,
