first of all, we are like the ';baby boom'; of this generation. we have the most kids in class 2009 which means less chance of enter a college and less chance of getting a career.
on top of that our economy is f*ed up and leading towards depression, meaning that we are pretty much accountable for paying up the debts on top of being an already debted college student
i say to be age 15-19 right now sucks. Would u agree that current teenagers have the worst future coming for them?
I agree. Not only is the job outlook horrible for us right now, but many parents nowadays are not instilling any values in their children. I see the communities around me and I'm completely dissapointed with what I see. To be honest with you, I think our generation is going to ruin itself. The economy just makes it worse! The government also seems to forget about us, and the fact that in 20 years we will be the ones running this country. By time we are old enough to retire we won't be able to becuase there will be nothing left for us. My solution.... all young people ages 18 to 27 need to vote so we can make sure the right peson gets in office so we can see some change around here!!!Would u agree that current teenagers have the worst future coming for them?
Let me preface this by saying it is a generalization: I work in an environment(Movie Theatre) where I see a lot of teens and have seen lots of teens over the last several years, so I have a pretty good handle on that age group. The problem with being 15-19 right now as opposed to 10 or 20 year ago is that that age, today, is the most selfish, disrespectful, lazy, uneducated generation of teens that I have seen in many years. Their problems don't stem from current issues, their problem is that they expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter.
Are you kidding? The upcoming generation has wonderful things in store for them!! First of all we baby boomers will be booming our way out of here (if you know what I mean) leaving you plenty of job opportunities. And if you could just imagine how far we've come with new technology in just the past thirty years, it's going to be exciting to see what the future holds! And no matter what happens to the economy, there will always be jobs in the food industry, health care, transportation, and security. Don't stress - you are very, very lucky!
Sometimes i think so. Really unless you have that motivational drive to excel in life and be able to think for yourself budget and save money you won't make long. The baby boomers wow they created everything for us, this generations is using and hopefully the next generation will bring it up. Who knows there may not be Social Security left for us in the age of the early twenties. Better start saving i am working full time and going to school full time. It sucks i have no life and i do the same thing everyday lol.. but in a few years hopefully i will have the money and the stabilitiy to really be doing fun worthwhile stuff in life. Like getting a motorcycle skiing or even skydiving but for now... boredom of the same old sh*it still progresses.
tell that to the classes of the 1940s and 1960s to see what they think... at least YOU aren't looking into the face of a draft.
that aside, the ages between 15-19 tend to be tough on anyone in them, regardless of economic, environmental or international pressures. that's just a really hard stage of life to begin with.
on the bright side, you also face possible cures for cancer, AIDS, poverty and a whole host of positive things resulting from new discoveries that may happen within your lifetime. try to look forward to that instead of dwelling on the rest and you'll be a much more successful person; whatever that ends up meaning to you.
i wish you the very best.
i think it is annoying because of the above reasons, but theres always a future for everyone and your life is already planned out, you need to go with your mind and try your hardest.. if theres a lot more people going for the same college imagine how much more satisfying it will be when you get in. if you just wrk a little harder than older bros and sisters have or even parents the you can balance your life and enjoy a healthy socia life aswell :)
just my opinion tho x
No, absolutely do not agree. What nonsense.
';Things are worse than ever, and they've always been this way!';
Squawk, squawk, squawk -- ignorance and inflated ego lend themselves to this doomsday fantasy EVERY generation. It never fails. There has never, ever been a time when fools did not make the same statement that you wrote here.
Opportunities abound! People are more prosperous everywhere than ever before in the history of mankind. Communication, education, productivity are beyond the dreams and imagination of people just two generations ago.
Solve problems and make things happen.
Kind of. But Im sick of all you older pussys bitching and moaning about how much harder your life was than ours is now. Life wasnt hard at all in the 70's or 80's, sure as hell wasnt in the 60's when everybody was smokin it up, with the exception of the war. So stop cryin.
And wtf is up with everyone sayin its the kids fault that the economy is like this how could they **** it up? Its good ol' dubya's fault. Its more of the older people's fault than it is the kid's.
No i don't believe that current teenagers have the worst future coming for them.
School's learning process is more advanced now and it is making kids in school smarter. There are more Opportunities for children. Just because the economy is going through some things right now doesn't mean the children aren't our future,
you are so much better off then any other generation you have had it all given to you so dont cry that now you may have to work for it. boo hoo. get a job and make some money pay taxes and live free in America tha land of the free and the home of the brave the only problem I see is someone colted the game and people will have to shuffel move people move
yer blame our governments. all these wars, asylum seekers turning up left right and centre. there's got to be cut backs somewhere. unfortunately, our future education for students, who by the way, are our future. must take the can back, for it all. welcome in the immigrants, better educated and not so cynical as the home grown people. makes me sick to the back teeth.
i disagree. my daughter graduated in 2008 and is now attending college. i am a single parent of 3 kids ages 8, 10 and 18. 2 sons and 1 girl. my kids have the potential to do anything they want in life and i always encourage them. i don't blame kids if they are not doing well in life, i put the blame on the parents because it's their job to teach them.
Yes 15 to 19 looks bleak but it's not all to do with the economy and over popualtion....knife crime and gun crime is rife among the teenage population, young lads and girls have no respect for their parents or any authority figures, they're intent seems to be self destruction.Todays youth need to realise they are not in the wildwest.
No, I think there is hope that in 4 or 5 years there will be plenty of opportunities in new industries like clean energy and more. It really depends on how the election goes and if good decisions are made by Obama and Biden.
its that way for most generations, Im 37 and felt the same when I was younger. each generation has to clean up the mess left by its predecessors. but yeah the teenagers now have a bigger mess to work with.
yeah the economy a roller coaster russia cuba and venezuala are forming an alliance and it looks like the middle east will never forgive the U.S.A. the teens are basically F ' ed
i hope not cuz im 19 years old and don't wanna be going to college right now and end up ****** later in life..if we choose the right president, then everything will be alright!
VOTE OBAMA!!!
Yes, for me it is so far. I am not really getting inspired to go to school and stay in it.
that dubya for that one!
yes if they dont figure out how to save our economy so we dont have to go through the trouble of fixing their mistakes.
I agree.
I do not know if it is going to be as bad as we think, because just like us they will adapt.
No.
ya kinda
yep....and it's THEIR faults! (and the parents raising them right now!)
no, the medieval ages were worse
yes and no
YES!! with the way the country is evolving and people are changing... I feel very badly for thm
u r 1 of them
well im 13. if the US is gonna be jacked up... then Britain here i come!
Absolutely not, they have the best chance ever...If Obama gets in office which he probably will he will bring jobs back to this country %26amp; make sure people have health care...this is going to put so many people to work %26amp; bring more tax payers to paying taxes....then w/ so many people having health insurance it is going to bring a better life to more people than we have ever had before....When kids finish high school they will be able to get loans for college so their will be more educated people than ever before....Many kids had not hope of affording college, especially if their parents were sick they needed to be near by or to care for younger siblings. NO, it is going to be better than ever..When Clinton was in office he did many things like this bailout but he helped Mexico for example %26amp; he made a fortune from these things for our country...if the repubs. get out of the way %26amp; let this smart economists in we are going to be better than ever...Now it is not going to happen overnight...so young people have to be smart %26amp; have faith while they are waiting...once the If they can't go right to college then work in a business to be exposed to learning something that will help with the career for example. Just don't get into so much debt they will have to work %26amp; not have time to attend school. If they think they are going to have it made but if not they will be worst off. Think positive, think creatively, think Obama.
